Disorganization

We had a patchwork day yesterday and seven of us got together.  Let's see...  We are working on:

  •  the bazaar quilt (button hole appliqueing)
  • a summer quilt for the hospital (appliqueing circles to that one)
  • an autumn quilt for the same hospital (waiting for more leaf blocks to come back and in the meantime sewing two half blocks together)
  • our LCM's game quilt
Our LCM (least confident member)'s daughter is graduating from high school and so mom wants to send the daughter off to college with a quilt.  Well, this has been the purpose all along and the star blocks (made by mom and all her patchwork friends) have been sitting in a box for months.

"Oh my gosh!  My daughter is going off to college!  I've got to get this put together!!!"

So yesterday our LCM worked very hard arranging her star blocks and marking her white fabric.  Her next step is to put it all together and figure out what to quilt.  We will probably all help her with her quilting too.

I spent most of my time ironing little circles for the summer quilt and ironing the autumn blocks.  Don't I look industrious?

And here are the split autumn blocks.  I think we are waiting for another 10 blocks to be returned to us.

Our working table.  Let's see... Mrs. Ochiai is working on autumn blocks.  Mrs. Yamaguchi is making circles and leaf shapes.  Mrs. Harada is doing button hole applique.  I think Mrs. Furui and Mrs. Takagishi were arranging blocks in the next room.

We have a sewing machine, an ironing board and iron, embroidery thread, fabric, ironing starch, tea things and snack things on this table.  Hey!  This makes a great photography entry (but not really entered) for this week's photo theme... "Disorganization"!!!
